Hi, I’m Kate,  the creator behind Pickles and Pumpkin Bread.

I started this space somewhere between motherhood, creativity, and the realization that real homes rarely look like the perfectly polished ones we scroll past online.

Before becoming a mom, I spent years loving(and studying) interiors, collecting pieces I was drawn to, and imagining the kind of home and life I wanted to create someday. I assumed having a background in design would naturally mean my home would always feel “finished” or perfectly styled — but motherhood humbled that idea in the best possible way. 

Now, my days look a little different with half-finished DIY projects in every room, toys mixed in with collected decor, I’m covered in spit up while prying legos apart, figuring out dinner at 5 p.m., and trying to create beauty in a home that’s actually being lived in.

And honestly? This version is better than anything I could have planned.

Pickles and Pumpkin Bread became a place for all of it, affordable collected interiors, simple cozy recipes, an evolving design style, the rollercoaster of motherhood, the mess, the humor, and the stories in between.

I’m drawn to homes that feel layered, comfortable and personal — moody colors, soft textures, old pieces mixed with new ones, spaces that feel warm instead of overly perfect. I believe a beautiful home isn’t about impressing people; it’s about creating comfort, character, and a place your family genuinely wants to be.
