I Wanted a Magazine Worthy Life… But I Have Kids, Chaos, and a Home Full of Plastic Toys

I didn’t start this blog because I have a perfect home. I started it because I am tired of living in a space that doesn’t feel like me anymore. After having my second child 5 months ago, I know every mom out there can relate to that sense of losing yourself while in the depths of having a baby. As a creative and artist at heart, I’m hoping to find myself through writing and connection with other moms who are going through the same kind of days in their own lives.

My five year old son started saying, “ Oh, what a beautiful day!”, everyday. . No matter the day, no matter the weather or what we we’re doing, at some point, everyday, he finds a time to say his phrase. He sees beauty somewhere within our daily life, every single day. In the midst of the hard parenting days and the routines that make it feel like groundhogs day, my son has unknowingly inspired me to slow down and intentionally find the beauty that is around us.

This shift in mindset has also allowed me to slow down to rest and relax, I’ve been laying out by the pool! WHATTT, and to allow myself to not have guilt for indulging in a hobby that feeds my soul, crafting, baking, gardening, or even working out. Mom guilt is wild but im pushing that out and  I’m choosing rest, getting crafty, and imperfect beauty over the myth of “magazine worthy.” If you’re in, pull up a chair.

Oh, what a beautiful day.
